Hey, I've been wanting to install Windows xp spp 3 on my Asus g72. I can't seem to get it to work though. I put the CD in, it reads the setup files, but when it attempts to run the Setup it tells me that there is a problem with the harddrive. Anyone have any idea if I'm doing this incorrectly?

I also noticed on my cd for driver and utility that is says it's compatible with windows 7 32 & 64 versions. Will the driver disc work if I downgrade?

    Thanks.

Because the XP disk does not have SATA drivers, therefore, it can not find the hard drive and there are two ways to do it:

    - the easy way: Go to the BIOS and set the SATA mode to compatible mode.

    - Integrate SATA driver and burn your own XP disk to install, :

1: Download SATA driver from Intel: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17883/eng/f6flpy3289.zip, iaStor.inf is the only file you need to integrate.

    2: Download nLite: http://www.nliteos.com/download.html

3: Follow the guide to integrate the SATA driver: http://www.nliteos.com/guide/part1.html
