This is a fresh new install I wish to make, not using the original HDD, which I should keep to use with Windows 8.1. It should be installed on an SSD.

The problem is there are no official Windows 7 drivers from Asus anymore. I got this place to download W7 drivers, but I'm not sure if it should be trusted:

    http://www.driverscape.com/manufacturers/asus/laptops-desktops/n56vj/1281

    Should I?

The other problem is the Nvidia driver, which is for Nvidia GT 635M, and mine is GT840N.

I'm not happy with Windows 8.1, and I will have to re-install it again, using the internal recovery. I got infected with Cryptowall 3.0 with something I downloaded, when trying to find a way to make W8 to behave as W7.

Fortunately I have all the original files the virus locked, even if I don't know what can be trusted and not transmit the infection to my desktop. That should be fatal.

I did a recovery install, but not the "destructive one", that takes several hours to install. I intend to do it, but I would like to install W7 on an SSD.

    What do you advice?

There's a good chance that there are many, possibly all, even, Windows 7 native drivers for your hardware. Some systems will take 8(.1) and even the 10 technical preview and have every driver right out of the box, along with updates through the Windows update tool. Some Windows 8.1 updates may even work on 7 if it comes down to trying that.

Driverscape is reliable in the sense it's not scamware, at least as far as I'm aware. Whether it's reliable or not as far as the stability/compatibility of the drivers it offers is a mystery to me.

Is this a work machine? If not you could try the windows 10 preview for now to see if it meets your needs. Otherwise yes many drivers can come from the part manufacturer and the windows 8 ones may work anyway.
