Am I going to have any problems doing a clean install of XP on this computer? I know the 1st gen G1 came with xp preinstalled. Can I use the same drivers from the asus website, or am I going to run into problems? I'm not having a ton of luck searching through posts, because archives send me to the root folder for archived threads.

EDIT: I'm reading that I need to make an installation disc using some kind of SATA driver? Getting a tad confused.

Well if you have Windows XP recovery CDs you do not need to slipstream the SATA driver. You just need to put in the CD, recover as usual until the prompt asks you for the driver disk, and instead of inserting the drivers disk, you just force a reboot.

This produces a clean Windows install (no drivers, you will add them later; no bloatware at all).

Probably you will be able to use most of the drivers; i'm not sure what was changed between the two G1P-s but if it was for instance just the CPU,the RAM, and the HDD, all the drivers will work.
