Hello everyone, i've recently purchased the G51Vx-X3A from newegg and was interested in installing XP on this machine. I have already checked the info booth and found a downgrade guide ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5353978#post5353978) for the g51vx but was unsure if this was suitable for my specific model. If anyone could point me the right direction I would be very appreciative.

You probably should check with 5150Joker, he had a G51vx-A1 and he used to run XP on it, should be the same laptop.

The guide you posted says power4gear is incompatible with winxp but this isn't true, there are versions for xp that work just fine, one is listed in the guide I linked to =]

Well, the install was flawless. All the drivers are working and XP is incredibly fast on this machine!
