    I'm trying to install windows, but I can't get the asus z71v to recognize my windows xp cd, but it keeps saying to reboot and and put a new boot device.

    Sorry for being a noob :( Can anyone help me through installing windows?

    err... did you set the CD drive as a boot drive in BIOS ? :cool:

    mike, thanks that was it, but i believe the culprit is that my cd is not bootable... so i'll be finding some other way to install it.
