Hey everyone, I have downloaded the G1s image file with slipstream included and download everything on the wiki page which I found to be really helpful. During the installation I have tried all the both my windwos xp cd key which doesn't seem to work. Now, my installation is held at that point. Could anyone PM me a working cd key? I promised not to post it anywhere else. I just want to continue with the installtion. Thanks in advance.

If your cd key doesn't work then call Microsoft about it. You aren't allowed to ask for these kinds of things on the forums.

The problem is that now I can't continue with the installation since my cd key didn't work. Sorry about the post I didn't know I can't ask for things like this. Sigh I guess I have to reformat back to vista.

just call microsoft and tell them you are reinstalling a second copy of the OS on the same computer. they can't stop you from having two installations of XP in 2 different partitions on the same computer. i called when i installed XP for a second time on this very same laptop and it was no problem. one installation for work, one for home.

Probably the image is based off an OEM installation kit, and you are using retail CD keys? In any case, you are indeed not allowed to ask for CD keys on the forum, using someone else's CD key is illegal. :)

You can try contacting Microsoft as suggested, and explain the problem.

Thank you all for the advice. I did call Microsoft and they provided me with a new cd key. Now the installation of xp is completed and the new G1S-A1 is simply amazing. The way it logs into windows, the way it load web pages, and much more. G1S-A1 + XP = Happy User!

Cool! Honestly, Vista for me was just as fast...after optimizing it a bit :p. I mean I had something like 20-30 processes after a clean install instead of the 70-80 normally! So big improvement.

Would you be able to use an old oem copy off an older, broken laptop? Technically you own it but it no longer works, so can you transfer that kind of lic?

Well I have no idea if it's technically legal, but by my own personal standards I would consider that fair use, and I'd do it :)

You needn't follow my own standards though :) You should check the license terms.
