Hi all,
I looked at the settings of my mini-pci (Intel 2200bg) wireless card and it says transmitting at 10mW and that it can go up to 50.1mW, but i have transmit power at 100%! When i got down to 15% it goes to 1mW, the next notch (25%) it goes to 5mW the next notch (40%) set it to 10mW and then it doesn't change when i crank it any higher. ANyone else have this problem? Know how to get 50.1mW cuz that could be really handy!
EDIT: I have noticed that when I get far away from an AP my intel wireless mini-pci card will crank the power up to 31.6 mW but that's the highest it'll ever go! I never get 50.1mW. Is this reserved for Japan with channels in excess of 14??

I noticed this too. Transmit power is typically at 10.0mW. If I move further away from the AP, it cranks up to 31.6mW. Haven't ever seen anything higher than that either.

Where does it tell you how much power it's putting out?
Mine only says "100%"... doesn't say how much Trasmit Power is. -
Using the ProSet utility, you can see Transmit Power if you click on "Details" for your current connection.

Funny...it doesn't show up on mine.
Maybe it's because I'm using the older Proset drivers...(ver. 8) -
But was ProSet 9 even out at the time this thread was created (Oct. '04)? I don't think it was, and the original poster was able to see his transmit power. -
I think Proset 9 may have been released by then... if not completely, then at least a beta version of it. I'm not completely sure...but I know that version 9 has been out for quite some time.
I just never bothered to upgrade because version 8 has been flawless for me... -

Well, this is what I see...
