SOLVED: The black wire from the side of the case is that antenna wire for the TV card! The three wires bundled together (gray, white, black) are for the wireless network adapter. See the following pictures:

Hello,
I just received my Asus C90S and it is working perfectly except that my Intel 4965AGN is only connecting to my LinkSys WRT350N with 802.11g not N. To ensure that it connects with N, I've configured the router to only use N. On another notebook with a LinkSys WPC300N, it connects perfect with the router, so the router is okay. When I attempt to connect to my router from the CS90S, I receive an error from Windows Network Diagnostics: "The wireless settings for the network adapter on this computer don't match the settings of "XXXXX_SSID". It suggests to verify the adapter's settings. I can connect to wireless G, but not to wireless N. I saw a posting here reporting that ASUS provided incorrect Intel Wireless drivers, so I downloaded the correct ones from Intel and installed them. Same issue... I am certain the issue is an antenna wiring problem... Did I select the wrong black antenna wire from the two in the computer???
When my Intel 4965AGN card arrived, I was disappointed because it did not come with any installation instructions. The CS90S has 4 wires with "pop on" connectors that will attach to the Intel 4965AGN, but there is absolutely no guidance as to which wire goes to which antenna connector on the card (labeled "1", "2", "3"). Logically, I decided that it shouldn't matter as long as 3 antennas are connected to it for wifi-N.
SO... HERE IS THE PROBLEM... In the C90S, there are 4 wires and 3 antenna connections on the Intel 4965. Also, two of the wires are black! I connected the white, gray, and black wires that were closest together and routed together towards the network adapter, but I cannot connect to my wireless router with N. Help! Did I choose the correct wires? Why is there an extra black wire that is slightly longer with the same antenna "pop on" connectors?
This is a blazingly fast computer with most WEP scores at 5.0, but I need to do a wifi-N demo tomorrow to a customer.
Thanks,
Mike

There should only be one antenna and from what I know it is a black wire connected to the "main" port.

The WLAN install shown seems only to use two antenna connections. Perhaps the other antenna wires are for the bluetooth card? I don't have my C90s yet, so I can't just look for you. :-( -
Hi Gang,
Just for fun, I disconnected one black antenna wire and attached the other... same results... I can connect to WIFI-G, but not N. I've scoured Intel's website and ASUS, but cannot find anything on these 4 wires. They must be antennas because they are in the correct location and they have the pop-on connector. I'd appreciate any feedback from others who are building the C90S. Right now, it appears that either black antenna wire works... And we definitely need 3 antennas for WIFI-N to work... Also, need to make sure that the WAP or wireless router is approved by Intel... Standards war... My shiny, new LinkSys WRT350N works great with their PCMCIA N card, but won't connect to my Intel 4965. Argggggg... Other router vendors work, but LinkSys seems to be dragging its heels on updating its firmware... Last release was January, I believe! Anyway, I'd sure love to learn the correct wiring for the Intel 4965 and why there is an extra black antenna wire. Thanks! -

Maybe it is a compatibility issue with your router? Have you tried a different router? or possibly resetting the whole system?
Also, N uses (at least is supposed to use, from what I know) two antennae, perhaps both of the black should be connected? -
Hi Alex,
Yup... Last night I found that the Intel 4965 and my LinkSys WRT350N are not happy together, and it appears to be a common issue. Today, I am going to buy an Intel certified N router and continue trying to figure out the wire issue for the card. It completely blows my mind that Intel or ASUS did not send any kind of instructions for wiring the card. It wouldn't be so bad if there were only 3 antenna wires in the C90S, but 4 with 2 the same color! Arggggggg! Someone must know the answer! I've scoured and scoured the Net, but to no avail... Gonna fall back to my test with a new router and see if I can figure it out tonight... Will post what I learn from experimenting, but, geez, it sure would be nice to know why there are two black antenna wires.
On a completely separate note... My C90S didn't come with enough 2.5mm and 3mm screws to assemble it, so I went to the hardware store and bough some... Should they be made of a special material? If so, where can I buy a bunch of them? Thanks! -
Thank you for your information. I think the 4th wire is the led wire, if you said 1 black should be the main and other 2 wires for antenna. Those 4 leds in the front one for power, the others 2 are battery and mail led, and the 4th one is wireless which is never lights up even one time. It is working fine, but to me not a perfect yet, does anyone know the solution to turn the front led on ?
