Recently upgraded the Intel 1000 Wifi card to a 5300. Cannot get expressgate to work with the 5300. Network panel says Wifi is disabled and the box to enable wifi is grayed out.

The 5300 works fine in Windows 7.

Any ideas/thoughts to get expressgate to work with the 5300?

By the way, I have the G51J-A1.

This issue is probably related to the fact that the 5300 is a 3 antenna card and your G51J-A1 only has 2 antennas. You might want to try the 5100 card instead.
