When the price on Intel chips drop, will the price in notebooks using the chips drop in price accordingly or do the price drops only affect notebooks that are yet to come out?
With the features that I want, I could get an A8Jm right now for $1800 US from MileStonePC. It's very cheap for the features I want, but it's always great to save more!

ASUS never drops its prices on its ENSEMBLE notebooks, and like Apple, they bump up the specs instead.

^ No. He's saying the Apple specs will be better. I don't think ASUS modifies their prices. At the most, they might give a 100$ mail in rebate or something.
-
I would say that, but currently, I don't see it getting any better anytime soon, there is a slight chance that in a few months, the CPU *might* be bumped up, and perhaps the HD Space as well, and perhaps to 1 stick of RAM(and at 667). ASUS N.A. has done that to the W3v, W5f, etc. before.

... or include Bluetooth internally ?
.. hey.. maybe that's the kicker... instead of dropping price, they'll include Bluetooth in all A8Jm models... grrrr...I'm gonna be p***ed off if that happens.

Unless a model is approaching end of life, you're not likely to see a price shift on new models because of this. Likely the manufacturer will make a little more margin on the unit, and a refresh of the unit could have other bumps in specs equaling out the price.
New models may see a small cut in price but keep in mind, it's only going to be a SMALL amount - I wouldn't be surprised if it filters down to $50 or less on the consumer price. -
Yeap, I remember when the V6v was at the $2499 price point, stayed there until its EOL, when the V6va came along, at the same price point, the V6v dropped to 2199, then 1899 after rebates, etc. Right now, the V6j is at 2199, which is quite a drop.
