After unplugging my USB speakers one day, my internal speakers wouldnt put any sound out.

    -The headphone jack works
-Nothing I know of is muted in audio devices or mixer
-Speakers are enabled and checked in the "playback devices" page
-Changing bios speaker volume doesnt help
    -updating bios didnt help (301)
-Updated to latest realtek drivers from realtek site (made sure to go into safemode and delete old driver stuff)

Does the ASUS chime still play when the computer is booted up? If so it's "just" a software issue.

Instead of manually deleting the remnants of the old drivers you could also use DriverCleaner Pro, that is probably more thorough and has a better chance of succeeding.

Or you could try a system restore to a point where the speakers worked.

Or in the worst case, Windows recovery/reinstall...
