I reformated my Asus G50vt-x1 and added windows xp. I installed the "Realtek Lan driver" at this location,
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=282100#winxp

    however it still doesn't work.
During installation, it does stop and says insert plug in play reltek. However I don't have that or know what it is. Any help I would greatly appreciate it.

are you trying to install the LAN 10/100 port? Or the wireless Intel card? If the former, install the Realtek LAN driver from the driver CD. For the wireless, install the drivers from the WiFi folder on the same driver CD.
