Any particular steps that I need to go through to get the Ir port working on the M6? The driver appears to be all set up as usual (automatically set up with Win XP install, no other driver installed) and device status shows the Ir port to be working normally - but it never detects my Ir devices...

What Ir devices are you trying to pair with? ... cell phones, printers, etc?
Thanks,

Cell phone.. Nokia 6230 to be exact. Works fine with my serial IR device on my desktop and with my friend's Latitude D600, but not with the M6. I've tried reducing maximum connect speed, but no luck. Any ideas? Other drivers?

I got mine to work without doing anything, just pressed transmitt on the phone and held it next to the Ir port. I do admit that I know very little about Ir and thus can offer no real help....sorry

So Underpantman, I assume you didn't have to install any other drivers or anything, correct? It just worked after installing Windows XP?

I finally got my IR port to work on my M6N. After searching for about 20 minutes I decided to play around with the settings located in the properties of the IR Device on my laptop. Anyways, I went to Wireless link, located in the Control , clicked on the hardware tab and then clicked properties. Once in there, I opened the advanced tab and changed the settings of Transceiver A to the first IBM option. THen Lowered the maximum rate connection to 57,600 bps. I set my Motorola Q to the side of the IR port and it found it with no problem. Try that radeon x. That's if you haven't gotten it to work after all this time....
