    I came across an ultraportable Asus laotop called U1E-A1 on ebay with reasonable price tag (US$ 800.00 + S & H) with older spec like 1.06 Ghz U7500 CPU, 100GB 1.8" 4200 rpm HDD and 3GB DDR2 667Mhz.

Do you think this spec is worthy for US $ 800 ?

All I need is a under 3lbs laptop with decent performance for email, web surfing.

    Please advise.

Definitely get a netbook if your requirements are "All I need is a under 3lbs laptop with decent performance for email, web surfing."

The ASUS 1000HE would be a good place to start.
