    Newb question here....

Regarding Bluetooth on the Asus G1s/V1s...

Is it difficult to set up?

Are there any issues with it?

If I use a blue tooth mouse or head set is it basically idiot proof? Are there any things in particular I would need to know?

Since my lappie will be on the move all the time, I'm concerned about getting a USB mouse since I'd have to plug it/unplug it several times a day, which must be hard on the USB port.

    Thanks

It's not hard, it's essentially making sure the laptop detects the mouse, and it'll be plug and play, just without the plugging :p

As for the headset, you may need to configure the settings on it(though software on the notebook), but again, essentially plug and play. You do, however, need to turn on the BT client and make sure it can detect the BT signal.

I'd think of it as a bit harder than using a USB device but a lot easier than setting up a wireless network or devices. I'd say a Bluetooth mouse is generally idiot-proof. With instructions it should be no problem at all.

You'd be surprised. Wireless is a lot more straight-forward that BT.

Sometimes you need a firmware update for your BT devices to talk properly (like my iPaq).

Or sometimes you need the special BT receiver or software because the keyboard is encrypted (like Logitech with the MX5000 keyboard/mouse where the mouse works but the keyboard doesn't).

Or sometimes you need to find the missing setting in the control panel to get it to talk to a certain type of device (like a BT headset).

The main problem is adoption rates are relatively low. The more that PC people use it, the better it'll get... eventually.

Meanwhile, my Wii has BT and has absolutely no problems. ;)

No bluetooth is not hard to use. That being said, it can sometimes be a pain to setup.
