The spec for W3v on the proportable web site is this:

    Intel Pentium-M 750 Dothan (1.86Ghz; 533mhz w/ 2mb Cache)

I assume the 533mhz refers to the FSB.

So if the processor is Pentium-M with 533mhz FSB, is it supposed to be a Sonoma?

Correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks

If you want to be technical about it, there is no sonoma cpu.... it's called the 533mhz Dothan (there is a 400mhz dothan)....

What it is what you're thinking it is.

    Thanks,

I just thought it's not the latest PM that Intel has.

    I guess I am mistaken

The latest Pentium M is still a Dothan, it is just a faster FSB.

I assumed that all of the Sonoma machines came with the light sensor technology. That was they way they spoke of it when the Z71A came out, which I know for sure does have it.

Sonoma is the code name for 2nd Generation Centrino. It is the 915 Chipset, Better Audio, and Light Sensor technology.

Just a note, we will be customizing everything on the W3V (memory, hard drive, & processor). So if you are looking for a custom Asus laptop, we can do it for you. We also customize the other Asus Ensemble machines (S5, W1, W5).

Sorry, we were waiting for pricing to arrive from Asus. We are posting it at 1999. I have changed our pricing to reflect that. However, if pricing changes, we will contact any of the pre-orders before we charge their account, and verify that the price is acceptable. We do not charge the card until we are ready to ship the unit.

    Thanks,

Ok, I was wrong. Only the Z71 series has the light sensor technology.

I guess I will just wait until then.

Is the expected arriving date for W3v still around April 12th?

I've read it somewhere in the forum.

    Thanks
