I have had my G1S for about 3 months or so. Recently it has started giving me a weird 1-3 second freezing at regular intervals. My hard drive makes this soft whine as it seems to spool up then loop back, or maybe it is the fan? Either way it makes my mouse and all keys freeze for 1-3 seconds which is killing me on counter strike and just plain annoying when writing a paper.

I have removed the bloatware and I use my laptop for everything, every day. I have already had knew working ram installed under warranty. I have no idea why it does this.

I can play for 1-3 hours before it starts doing it, then it does it all the time. Do I need to send it in to have them check on the hard drive? Will a 5400rpm hard drive do this over a 7200 rpm hard drive? I honestly cannot remember which one I had put in and I am not going to be home till tomorrow night to find out.

I have the same sort of thing happening when playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion on my desktop. After playing it for a few hours it starts to freeze for up to 30 seconds and occasionally just stops (screen looses signal and i cant get my system to respond in any way). I think (this is just my theory) that its just the system getting clogged with too much stuff. If you can afford the interruption, try rebooting every 2 hours or so.

GrandAdmiral, your problem looks like a graphic driver problem.

Have you tried upgrading the last version?
Or maybe your graphic card needs coolers air?
