Well this issue is dedicated mainly to the ASUS resellers which also happen to be NotebookReview.com members.

As you can see from my profile (if you even bother to see) I am an Indonesian living in Jakarta, Indonesia. I bought my W3J in Singapore because this notebook computer does not come to Indonesia. It even does not officially come to Singapore, only one computershop (Microware) imports W3Js (W3J plural not the Merom version) from Taiwan in limited amount. I wanted it so much so when I found out that the W3J was available in Singapore, I went there and bought one.

In short, my cousin noticed my W3J and he became interested also and wants to buy one. The problem is, Microware is out of stock now while W3J still is not available in Indonesia. So, is there any possibility that I order a W3J from the resellers here (ProPortable/BTOTech/MilestonePC/other resellers)?

    Thanks heaps for your replies.

Hi Danny, thanks heaps for your reply. So how is the payment? Through wire transfer or credit card? And what are the shipping options? How is the availability of W3J?

    Again thanks for your reply.

Hahaha.. jauh-jauh ke NBR, ketemunya anak sini-sini juga.... I just think that ASUS Indo is a bit weird, they allow the Lambo to get in, but not W3J...

    Hi guys,

I am from Indonesia too but live in US now. I strongly advise against buying from US and have it shipped to Indonesia. The tarif / tax can be more expensive that the computer itself.

The only way to do it is ask your friend here to buy it for you and bring it to Indonesia in person.
I can help you if you want. I'll be travelling to Indonesia in October to attend my brother's wedding. PM me if you're interested.

I think you can bypass that.... buang kotak packaging tapi jangan buang instruction manual dan quitansi nya.

I don't think you pay duties or tarrifs on products made in the country you're buying it in.

Yes you pay importing duties, my friend even got charged by the the coureer company for importing duties, the only way to avoid it, is tosay you a posting a book and hope they dont check the contence or tkae it with you on the plane (which if you don't declare and customs search you, they can still charge you)

but in the most part you should be fine travelling with it, I brought mine in the US and went back to the UK a month ago and took the packaging to the UK with me I was fine.

Hey if you went to Singapore, can you get to Thailand? I was there in Jan this year, in Bangkok (phantip plaza) I found well speced W3Vs (2.0ghz) for a reasonable price too, they had a good supply of Asus laptops this place is loaded http://www.thailine.com/bangkok/shopping/phantip-e.htm

    :D

Whoa, thanks for all your opinions, friends! I will tell my cousin first... then he can decide what he wants to do. BTW, I saw local newspaper today, there's an ad about the biggest computer expo in Indonesia, and guess what... seems like ASUS Indonesia has finally decided to bring W3J in... the one with T2300 though, like mujtaba's if I'm not mistaken.
