    I have the UL30VT-A1 O'C to 1.9 ghz...
    and a non O'C-able desktop with a AMD X2 64 4400 2.3 ghz...

Is my Asus better due to Intel hyper thread?

Why don't you run some benchmarks between the two? (wprime, superpi, 3dmark, etc)

Asus ul30vt-a1 doesn't have hyperthreading enabled cpu, thus the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
