My g1s laptop had trouble charging the battery unless it was put in a weird angle for a couple days and now it won't charge at all; it doesn't even recognize that the ac adapter is plugged in. The ac adapter is a new one that i bought when my original started making a beeping sound and broke. This leads me to believe that my motherboard is broken, but is there any way i can fix it or get a new one, when the laptop is not under warranty any more, or would i be better off just getting a new laptop. My college semester already started so i need a computer asap. Any ideas?

Yea it's probably the power connector on the laptop side getting loose, especially since you said 'weird angle'... not much you can do about that unless you want to break it open and start soldering. If you take it to a repair shop they should be able to take care of something like that for pretty cheap, like under an hour's worth of work. If that is the problem, of course. Best of luck.
