    Is purple screen a PSOD?

    I was just playing NFS Shift and during gameplay, my screen went purple, not the whole of it, the lower bottom didnt, this happened for a second then went away then after some time it happened again for a second. Is this some kind of issue on the GPU?

    well it only happened only twice... havent had it today yet..and it only happened when i turn the graphics to low and medium on the game.. and when i cranked it back to the default i havent been having it so far

    Done it in any other games? That'd be the big clue I would think. Otherwise I would chalk it up to NFS.
