Is the ASUS Zenbook UX32VD-DB71 available anywhere? Any ETA for a specific vendor?

The title sums up my question pretty good. Is it available or will it be soon? Where?

Haven't found any in the US. My local shop - an authorized ASUS distributor - hasn't seen any in a month, and their distributor can't even guess when they'll arrive. They're speculating that flooding in Taiwan that has prevented other Taiwanese from meeting demand has affected Asus' ability to produc the UZ32VD.

Why did you have to return them?

Same here... I can't find it anywhere. I would like to buy one over the X1C, but I have to place the order well in advance of the end of the FY12. First week of September at the latest. I have a 512 GB Samsung 830 that will sit idly by if I go the Lenovo route. But the dollars will not roll over... I need to find one in North America...

Why did you have to return two of them... I may need to buy the Lenovo in this case, because Asus' support in the states leaves a great deal to be desired.

We're on the same boat. I was really intersted in the Lenovo X1C as well. But after looking at the screen and port connectivity options, I decided to give up on it. Instead I'm thinking of going with UX32VD. The 3 USB3.0 ports is good. I can't believe Lenovo put 1 USB3.0 and 1 USB2.0 ports on a highend laptop. Plus the X1C only has 1 external display output. Also, the UX32VD's memory can be upgradable.

Only thing that UX32VD is lacking is the flex on the keyboard, which I am seeing from reviews and Youtube videos.

Overall, the UX32VD is a winner in all categories.

I like it so much that I'm willing to buy on back order, but due to the end of FY12 approaching a lingering lack of charging the purchase would possibly cause the order to be canceled leaving me high and dry because the funds can't rollover to FY13. Gotta love bureaucracy!

Nope, actually they don't. People are looking for the UX32vd and they as well as everyone else, do not. They do have other models, like the ux31 that you link to. AHHHH!!! It is frustrating to spend too much time researching which ultrabook to buy and then not be able to buy it..... oh well

First one backlight bleed, second one had a key falling off.

Third one is awesome though :)

I may regret that this wasn't readily available soon as I will have to buy something before the 7th.

I just purchased mine from newegg. I hope it doesnt have the issues everyone is complaining about. Also, what is a link for an SSD upgrade that is 7mm that will fit this thing?

monkeysez, look at the amazon/newegg reviews, people post the exact model they purchased. From the top amazon review on UX32VD, I will be probably set on this one Amazon.com: Samsung 830 - Series MZ-7PC256N/AM 256 GB 2.5 Inch SATA III MLC Internal SSD Laptop Kit with Norton Ghost 15: Electronics

    Hey,

I'm trying to buy one from Sydney. Did you find a local importer or end up buying from the US? And where did you have to send them back to?

    Cheers.

Decided to buy the T430s. Too much uncertainty, and small issues.
