    Hi,

i am looking at buying the above mentioned notebook. initially i was going for a 3.2ghz non Centrino notebook, however concerns over heating have changed my mind.

I like the look of the W1 and it's features .. @ $3600AUD its not cheap but I would like to know anyone else who has purchased the W1 and what they think ?

    cheers,
    oz

It should come with a dothan, but it is best that you check with the reseller to make sure, just in case.
I was going to get the W1N, but the M6Ne was cheaper, came with similar specs and had better a better GPU. I couldn't be happier with my choice. I saw the W1N instore, but I wasn't that blown away with its looks. The apple powerbooks looks heaps better, and for me it needed to look as good as an apple to justify the extra $$$. By the way $3600 is a dam good price for the W1N, I haven't seen it for much under $4000 where did ya get that price from ?

Well I went all out and got the W1SNA, which comes with a Dothan 1.8GHz chip and 2Mb Cache.

It seems the W1NA 1.7Hz is not a dothan and i justified the extra cash. I absolutely love the W1! the design and every little feature from the included mouse to the remote controll is sublime.

I have an ABN number so i got it from a distributor called IngramMicro here in Homebush.

    I got the W1SNA for $3800 and the W1NA was $3570.

    Cheers,
    Oz

Ive had the WINA for almost 2 yrs, mine cost 3400 aus dollars an excellent machine, only one problem the screen went.. of course when u play games online 24/7.
Another great tool is the wireless function use it if u can purchase a cheap router and ADSL Modem u wont regret it less lag for online games, keys are great wont get sore fingers unlike the bulky usb keyboards.
I read an article awhile ago about the dothans they released them after the 1.7ghz... there were 2 models mine 1.7ghz few months later 1.8ghz my friend brought thismodel i saw the specs.
If u saw the V6000 with 2.13ghz less price when u looked at the ASUS WINA chances are u could of picked it up cheaper.
My next laptop is the W2A 100 gig HD 17 inch Radeon X1600 256DDR3 2gig ram.

    Good Luck....
