    Hi,

I may sell my M50VM, the warranty isn't up until January, 1, 2011.

If I were to sell it, could I delete my name from the Asustek support website (where we register the warranty)? and allow someone else to pick up the warranty on the notebook?

Or would have to be a middleman and keep my name listed on the warranty? and then speak for the person I sold it to if anything were to go wrong?

You should call asus to see if you can.

I know that you can with dell ;)

That's a good idea, I can probably give them a good reason why it's necessary as well.

But, I'm afraid they'd like take note of my name and case number, then secretly increase the difficulty of the identity questions (when trying to get something fixed in the future) and then tell me it's non-transferable!

    Thanks. :)

the asus support website where you register is just for display purpose only.. it is not used by asus for any warranty claim

to claim warranty, you need to show the original receipt
if no receipt, asus will count from the manufacturing date based on serial number.

so yes, asus warranty is transferable

The warranty is based only on the serial number and invoice date as revogsx mentioned, hence is transferable.
