Has there been a BIOS update for the G1S-A1 that fixes the problem with the CPU running at half speed while charging?

Nope. Still not fixed, in fact they haven't released a single BIOS update since 204, despite laptops newer then the G1S (including the G2S) have had numerous updates in the same time span.

So either they have been hard at work on 205 to include both the Battery Recharge CPU bug, and maybe even more issues.. Or they haven't been doing a damn thing and are leaving G1S owners out in the cold.

Considering the amazing support I've had from ASUS when my first G1S was defective, I'll give them the benefit of a doubt that this problem will be fixed. But I think it might be time for G1S owners to start sending e-mails to demand a fix.

Not exactly, it only happens when the battery is charging AND is under 90%. Once the battery charge is above 90% it will run at normal speed. Also it doesn't happen when there is no battery in the laptop, just so you know.

To be honest, I never get faced with the issue. The majority of the time, the laptop is on AC. When it does run on battery, the mediocre battery life limits the machine to only basic tasks - thing that aren't effected by the drop in CPU performance. Finally, it doesn't take long at all to charge to 90% so I'll just let Asus continue working.

exactly as Lithus says... you can't expect to game on a laptop such as this with its piss poor battery life.

Now for those who complain about wanting to play after having been at class and the battery down I tell you this... remove the battery while you're playing.

If you can't afford to have the battery out because you need to charge it again for another class or something, you most likely shouldn't/dont have the time to game.
