Depends on what you need... which you should state. Perhaps even fill in the FAQ to get other options.

I just picked up a G1S-B2 which is very similar and I love it. So much faster than what I was dealing with before. But as E.B.E said, it all depends on what you'll be using it for.

I'll use it for very light gaming, a lot of multi-tasking ( Dvd burning, Movie encoding, Photoshop, Games ), and school work. Portability is also important.
BTW what's the difference with all the G1S models? Like the A1, A2, B1, B2??

I've got a G1s-A1, and if you're only doing "very light" gaming, than you probably won't need the 8600M GT... But it's still a good investment if you can get a good deal. I'm not sure of specifics of different models, but some have different processors, and higher capacity hard drives, etc.

well, if you dont need the high res and mini display then i think an m51sn or m50 would be better bang for the buck

If you are concerned with portability and you only do light gaming, you should probably look at another model. G1 is pretty heavy and bulky for a 15" notebook. Maybe a 14" like the F8 or the V2 will serve you better? Or even a 13" like W7 or U6. The CPU power is pretty much similar on all these machines.

The differences are usually in the configuration (CPU speed, RAM, HDD).
