I have a K55A. I was expecting a standard poor TN screen, but still, when I got it I was somewhat caught by surprise. It's a Samsung LTN156AT24-P01 panel, and it is utterly and exceptionally bad.

No one good vertical viewing angle, which leads to washed unsaturated colors leaning toward white, shifting colors, negative colors, black that is grey stripes across most of the screen. The angle problems are the worst aspect, but there's also visible 6-bit dithering, and in some cases motion trails.

I was starting to think maybe this panel is technically defective, although I still think it's just your typical Extra Poor Laptop TN™ that saves Asus some 2$.

    Is your monitor similar?
