Hi, Ive got an ASUS N10J netbook thats just over 6 months old, ive taken it to a ASUS service agents as there's a problem with the battery not charging, the technician told me that the battery on the N10J has a 6 Month warranty , which came as a bit of a surprise , I can't see any where on the documentation that came with the N10J , a reference to the battery only having 6 Month warranty, ..... do you think the tech guy is correct ..?![]()

ASUS systems all have pretty good warranty packages - it's something that makes them popular. If you haven't yet done so, call the main ASUS support line and tell them you need a new battery, or what your problem is. If your system is still under warranty, then the battery is under warranty (assuming it's the original battery or an extra that was bought with the original). Batteries do not come with separate warranties unless they're bought separately after the system was purchased.
Also tell them what the idiot of a tech told you. -
Hi , thanks for the reply, I will give ASUS suport a call , and post back the results , so when I collect the netbook from the service agent and he says that its going to cost me so much for a new battery I can tell him the facts - the battery is covered under the general machine warranty - so there !!

The battery might have a 6 months warranty but the main problem is it's not being charged at all. Batteries can last longer than 6 months with multiple charge cycles.

Depending on where you bought your N10, the warranty terms may differ. However, in the US and Canada, the N10 battery comes with a 1 year warranty.

In Vietnam, ASUS notebooks have 2-year warranty (but 1-year for battery & adapter). And with my greatest sympathy, their netbooks have 1-year warranty (and 6-month for battery & adapter).

ASUS netbooks in the US, as I remember from doing the research, have a 1 year warranty, but the battery only has 6 months warranty. I know that this was a very big deterrent for many people, since 6 months is not enough time to use enough charge cycles necessary for an exchange.

N10 IS NOT A NETBOOK , it has same warranty as notebook , 1 year for battery . it is not built at the eee netbook factory

Oh, I'm sorry, I have just checked again. N10 shares the warranty with notebooks here.
Is the Tech Guy Correct - what do you think - N10J
