I'm thinking about this laptop and I've read up on the ghosting and line issues. Does anyone know if they've fixed these issues yet? Thanks.

Dealer product dealer responsibility. Ask your dealer "some" do offer a ghosting guarantee. You dont have to look for to find some.

The notebook has always been safe....... you just want to make sure that where ever you're buying it is reputable and at least does a screen scan as well as covers the lcd panel for any sort of defect like this. Since Asus will be covering these defective screens, the dealers should not have a problem with replacing if the this issue is noticed or even starts to occur further down the road. -
Mine is ghosting, reddevil, and deadpixel free + No flex on palm rest. Only mildly warm after running WOW for 2 hrs with full graphic. ^_^

If you need a perfect LCD panel in a z70va, now is not a good time for purchasing. Asus still taking time to figure out the ghosting issue. How long??? no idea!!!

If a dealer guarantee no ghosting issue, then a customer can be feel comfortable to get one.

.... your screen will be covered by any dealer who is going to offer you a warranty (for issues that may occur after the laptop is shipping) and any company who offers a free pixel scan as part of their warranty should certainly be able to pick up on the "ghosting" issue if in fact the screen is affected during the build, and should certainly be able to swap the screen during the build as they would for any "bad pixels".... I know that's how we work and any company that's decent seems to copy our warranty word for word.... I'd just hold them to it and I don't think a "no ghosting guarantee" is needed unless a company has had many incidents of this occuring. In that case, the "guarantee" is a way to resolve all the issues they've recently had.
Is the Z170Av (screen) safe to buy now?
