I need to recommend a laptop for my teeny bopper cousin (12-13 years old).

From our AIM chat, her priorities are:
She later reveals to me that looks are actually very important and after some laptop browsing on Amazon, she is insistent on getting a Asus brand.

She also plays Minecraft and Team Fortress.

I thought I had found the perfect laptop for her (the U36SD!) but she later told me that it MUST HAVE A NUMBERPAD.

So does ASUS make a 15" version of the U36SD??

Asus doens't have a 15.6" U series at this time. The previous U series models they had them in 13.3, 14.1, and 15.6" but they havent released a 15.6" with these newer ones.
If she needs a keypad you can possibly purchase a usb one.
The closest model to the U series with the specs you're looking for is the N55SF models. It's not quite as thin but still well under your 10lb goal it also doenst get as good of battery life as the U series but its still worth a look.

If not ASUS, there is a recently launched (I dunno when it will get here) Sony SE 15", with all that (numpad, slim). Just no ASUS logo.

    10lb or less!

I hope so! For me, 5lb is a heavy laptop.
