Is there even a remote chance to swap in a 4860 into G50VT?

Hey peeps, I know that G50VT and most other Asus comps use a reversed connector for GPU, so putting in standard GPUs is impossible.

But would it be possible to swap in a 4860 from a K-series into a G50VT?

I'm doubting it because G50VT is based on an Intel chipset, while the K-series is based on Puma/Puma 2.

I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a definite yes/no on this one.

Hm i think that depends on if it is MXM slot or not. You may want to look into that though.

    Short answer? Definite no.

There are just so many restrictions that prohibit the 4860 from working in a half year old Montevina G50VT.

Don't want to give any false hope, but the chances are that a Geforce GTX 260M would work since ASUS has put one in the G71GX.

That would be extremely sweet if true. Though even if it worked, I bet Asus wouldn't part with it easily.
