Hey guys I've been looking into the Z70VA the last few days and I found the following configuration for a price of $1766 (before shipping):

    2.0GHz Pentium M 760
Seagate 100GB/8MB Cache 7200 RPM Hard Drive
    2GB DDR2 PC-4200 RAM
    Combo DVD/CD-RW
    1 Year Mfr Warranty

Anyway I just wanted to know if this was a good price for this configuration? Also, I found out that my credit card extends warranties and so I was just wondering whether or not it would extend the manufacturer warranty for the ASUS notebook if I used that credit card? Thanks for the help.

Good configuration, though RAM may be on the overkill side. But hey, no need to upgrade that ;)

As for warranty, its not manufacturer....technically, its Dealers. Manufacturers of each part, sure but it gets complicated

Hmm, do you know if credit cards would extend that warranty though?

You need to read your credit card's warranty extension terms.

Many of them limit the purchase amount to say $500 or less, and most of them specifically exclude laptop purchases from this protection.

So, check directly with your credit card company's policy to find the correct answer up front, instead of getting the wrong answer later.

I bought a Z81SP from www.powernotebooks.com and I would give these guys a try and they carry the Z70va as well. Top notch company to deal with and don't take my word for it, check out their profile on www.resellerratings.com

They carried a standard 3 year warranty included in the cost of my notebook.

    Two Minds,

Interestingly enough, I've been looking for pretty much the same configuration for the past few weeks, but the prices I've seen on-line are about $100 more than what you listed. Do you mind sharing the name of the re-seller with a resident of a neighbor-ing state (CT), either here in this thread or via PM ?

    Thanks !

@ 1770$ with hitachi 100gb 7200 and a wifi card with optional Internal Bluetooth . You mentioned mfr warranty which is not correct. This carries a dealer warranty. Well its suposed to anyways unless you buy from a dealer who does not self service then that is your loss....

It only includes what it says it includes, so if you want other upgrades like an OS, please go to the Configurator on our website.

It's $1770 with a Seagate 100gb 7200rpm not a Hitachi and yes I do believe it's a dealer warranty but many sites list the words mfr warranty. Anyway for Traz, this is configured from ISTNC.
