    So I just got an X2A and when I launch a game the fan suddenly kicks in kicking hot air out, is this normal?

    like 20 seconds into the game, just about to log in.

    Well, I think that's normal for G51 units... It varies from game to game though. e.g. in Quake 3, my G50VT-X8's is barely audible...

    It depends on the game you are running, some games require more out of the CPU and GPU, please provide the title, system temperature ( using a temp monitor of your choice, please indicate what you used. ), bios version.
