I am looking for a medium price notebook (such as a K53 series) that has VT .

I know other manufacturers such as Acer have the BIOS option to enable virtualization hidden on notebooks that have VT capable CPUs. Is that option settable on say a k53 or similar?

It varies widely by model, but generally if the system comes stock with CPUs that support VT-x, it will have an option in the BIOS. The same is not true of AES-NI or VT-d; some models have it enabled and some don't, some have a BIOS toggle, others do not.

If you want to know about a specific model, find an owners thread and ask there. ;)
