I have an issue where when I startup sometimes I get a bluescreen error (image imgur: the simple image sharer attaching it here failed).

This happens about once a week but, has been getting more frequent lately. I can normally take the battery out for a minute, put it back in and after a couple tries of that the computer starts up successfully. I have no idea why that works or if that is just me being superstitious. I've tried reformatting the hard drive and then replacing the hard drive with a new ssd drive. In both cases the problem came back.

The computer is this computer ( ASUS G75 Series G75VW-BBK5 Notebook Intel Core i7 3610QM (2.30GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - Newegg.com). It is a little over a year old.

Any suggestions on what might be causing it or how I can fix it?

It sounds like the hard drive is dieing, It looks like the error code pops up when data from the boot master record gets corrupted.

If you already tried replacing the hard drive, which you say you switched to a SSD, then it might be that something in Windows got corrupted. I would try using the Windows 8 Refresh function, as it lets you restore Windows without losing all your files and Store apps(backup everything though, just in case, and you may have to reinstall non-store apps manually).

Are you sure the system is not overheating? Have you run any utilities to check temperatures? If a computer gets too hot, it can give you a blue screen sometimes.

But what is most important is looking at what the blue screen says. With Windows 8, it's a much more simple screen than previous versions of Windows, so there shouldn't be much to write down. But what does it say exactly?
