Today I tried to install XP on a partition I created. It boots up correctly and does everything up to the point where I accept the agreement. At this point it says it cannot detect any harddisk, and therefore it has to abort installation. Oddly enough it worked on my friends laptop and he has a G1S too with identical specs. What is the exact problem here?
    Thanks.

you need the Sata drivers loaded during setup.

to do that you need nlite and slipstream the drivers onto the xp setup files and then burn the iso onto a bootable disc.

After a prolonged google search I saw that, with instructions as well.
