I though I would make this a seperate thread since the Asus F3sv thread is too large and this is a specific topic.

So far these are the very annoying issues I am having:
    1. Dead pixels on the right side of the screen
    2. Annoying DVD drive that opens with a simple touch when holding laptop
    3. Wireless signal constantly being dropped
    4. Lose keys on the keyboard
    5. The left click on my mouse pad is starting to wear out.
    6. Ther very well known short battery life. To make things worse though, my batter is on and off. It seems that somedays its will completely have issues holding a charge and others it can go on for close to 3 hours and battery life.

Those are some of the issues I am having. Please post if you are having any others and if you have resolutions to any ones listed in this thread. I am going to send my laptop out this break for servicing these annoying issues.

    1. Check your warranty manual. If the pixels are clustered together (or if there are many of them, there are specific rules in the manual) you might have a case for an LCD replacement.

    2. Bad design, nothing to do about it but get used to holding the laptop in a different way.

    3. Try updating wireless and ACPI driver. Also try disabling power saving states in the wireless card (driver options, I don't know the details)

    4. I don't know... try getting a new keyboard? What do you mean by "loose" anyway?

    5. F-series quality in plastic and painting... nothing to do about it.

    6. Seems like firmware/ driver issue, OR bad battery. Try updating ACPI drivers and BIOS, and if that doesn't fix it, RMA the battery.

Do you know what ACPI drivers to use. The notebook automatically choses the Microsoft ACPI drivers, but there has to be notebook specific ones out there. The ones on the Asus website suck.

for the wireless driver try one from intel, not the asus site. I found that they work alot better (real world example: my ping in counterstrike dropped 10-15 and download speeds are noticeably faster :D)

and that suck to hear, i hope my laptop doesnt get all worn out like that :(
