I read the thread on Z70a vs. Z63a, but I'm still conflicted. The Z63a is lighter, but the Z70a is carbon fiber, which would give me bragging rights. Also, the Z70a has a bit larger screen (not that it really matters that much to me, since I was looking at other notebooks with 12"). I'm so conflicted! They're the same price, so I can't possibly choose based on my inner miser. I'm leaning towards the 63a, but I'm afraid I'll make the wrong decision.

I'm pretty certain the Z63a is carbon fiber as well.

The z63a is part carbon fibre, it just doesn't have the aluminum lid like the w3v.

Go for the 63a, don't let the other pretty ASUS laptops bother you! :D

They're quite equal... but if I were you, I'd go with the Z63a for sure. They basically have identical specs...and the 63a is lighter with a glossy screen (if you like that kind of thing). It really is a better deal, though.

I was in the same position as you, I couldnt decide between the Z63 or the Z70a. I ended up going with the Z63 and I'm glad I did. The screen is just right, I really wouldnt want anything bigger, even though my vision stinks.
The Z63 is about at wide as a non-widescreen 15" laptop. I really wouldn't wanna go any bigger than that. But if portability isnt a big deal for you I guess it doesnt really matter.

Thanks for all your advice! I'm taking the plunge as we speak, and I hope my aching empty pockets will appreciate their sacrifice for a great machine =)
