Live update is not the same thing as Windows update.

Asus Live Update connects to Asus server to see/get updated driver files/bios/apps for your system.

MS windows update does similar things but connects to MS for update on Windows.

Well I've never really used this Live update thing but seems useless. BUT I would keep it in case. It's like it is a heavy app or anything so keep it around.

Just make another folder within 'All Programs' and put all the programs that you don't usually use.

I've also encountered problems with asus live update. It connects to the server most of the time. But after this, nothing seems to happen. What am I doing wrong?? (and yes, my norton internet security is disabled)

I'd like to see if theres any driver or bios updates availeble (spell-check :) ). It would just be easier to get asus live update, to download and install, rather than doing it manually.

Seems like tonydt1ge3 has the same problem:
"I have yet to recieve any updates ..."

by the way , i've got the V6V system if that has any influence.

There aren't often updates and that's why you don't see much going on there... I wouldn't junk it, but I'd set it to check for updates every 60/90 days at most.

Asus is wierd. Sometime you go on months before you see an update. While other times, you see one come out every couple of weeks.

It all depends on their own unknown schedule.
