Hi all, I just bought a G1S from bestbuy yesterday and after playing with it for a bit I found out it's not really a A1 but X1, which comes with the T7300 2.0 GHZ cpu not the T7500 2.2 GHZ as seen in other online stores. My question is should I return it and order it from online or should I not bother for the 200 difference in GHZ? How much slower will it be? This machine will be primarily used to play online games such as Starcraft2, Warhammeronline, and Team Fortress 2.. Occassionaly I will also play single player games such as Bioshock, Oblivion.

Somebody please help, I have been thinking about this issue constantly for the whole night :(

ps. Also I realize it also doesn't have the optical mouse and a bag which you suppose to get from other online stores....but this is kinda irrevalent to me...

Ps2. I also notice there is a 80 dollar rebate on the ASUS website now..but its only for the G1S-A1 model!!!!

Bestbuy only sells the G1S-X1. I bought mine there.

The cpu freq difference between the 73- and 7500 will not show up in any practical use - you'll only see it in benchmarks.

The difference in accessories is how BB is able to sell for lower than other online resellers.

Asus is trying to clear out the -A1, that's why the rebate is there.

You also get a limited 1 year battery instead of a 2 year international warranty with a 1 year accidental warranty.

Do a quick search on this topic, it's been dscussed to death :p

I bought the X1 from BB as well. I got mine for $1549.99 +tax. I thought it was an excellent deal. With tax it came to about $1650, granted it doesnt come with the Bag or mouse, but the Bag was gawdy and didnt have much corner protection and the mouse, I didnt need (have many already). I believe most online places are running the A1 for about $1680-$1750. I figured the T7500 and the accessories werent worth the extra $30-$100. THe only thing I can say would be worth it is the 2 year asus warranty vs the 1 year Asus Warranty. But I have it in my hands and I love it. Plus I was able to inspect it first to make sure there were no Dead Pixels. Its up to you what you want to do.
