Just bought the G50vt-x5. Where can I get a blu-ray burner for it?

    Hello,

I'm excited to say that my new G50VT-X5 should arrive in the mail tomorrow :D and I'm now wondering where I can get a internal bluray burner for it.

This is not only my "fun" computer but my work computer and I need to be able to burn blu-ray and dvd disc's. I want an internal since I travel a lot and don't want to hassle with an external but if you know of an external at an insane deal feel free to inform me.

    Thanks in advance!

    -Mark :)

If they're anything like DVD optical drives, you should just get a standard notebook BD, making sure it has all the proper screw/tab/eject button locations so that you can add your old faceplate to it, and avoid it from making the notebook look bad.

I don't know if any of the ASUS models come with a BD burner as standard, but for the BD-Roms they use the Sony-Optiarc 5500 series, with a SATA interface.
