    Just got a new F3SC :)

the guy at the shop said to charge it for 12 hours before i use it, then completly drain it.

ive charged it for about 2 hours so far (laptop off) and the charging light has gone off... should i still keep charging it?

in the manual it says "it takes a few hours to fully charge when it is turned off" so im abit confused...

    thanks.

    Battery Guide.

It doesn't really matter. He's just having you calibrate the battery.

I shouldn't matter at all if its on or off. I don't think the battery needs to be charged like that. It probably won't make the slightest difference at the end of the day (or year, when the battery is getting a bit worn down anyway).

No, a new battery should be charged to full before starting to discharge it. Other than that, it doesn't matter if the computer is on or off... It doesnt' need to be charged for 12 hours, because after the light goes off only trickle charge is being put in the battery, anyway.

The complete drain should be done once a few months only. I don't think it has to be done with a new battery.

That's what I meant. Charge it, but it doesn't have to be for forever. My post wasn't clear though.

Not that mine was too clear, either. I wasn't negating your post I was answering to the OP, but I should have clarified that. Oh well we all have our time restrictions and try to make things fast. :)
