First I would like to say that I have been reading this forum for quite some time, and it helped me so much desiding which first laptop to buy.

And today, after two weeks of long hard waiting It has finally arrived- my G1 (not S).
I bought it through the net and a friend brought it with him from the US.
It's asleep it the moment, charging, but I already have some questions:
    1. First thing I did was to turn it on, which resulted aventually in vista, but in the way there was a black screen telling me my bettary is low and also it took quite a long time to enter win.
Should I be worried? (stupid question, as I already am) was it a huge mistake to turn it on before charging?

-The mouse pad: is it just me or is it jumpy? in "jumpy" I mean that the cursor jumped a couple of times and didn't do a smooth move. Is this fixable?

-I would really appreciate some advice about charging, it's my first laptop

-last but not least: my friend brought the pc in the g1's bag with all the stuff inside. but I didn't find the warranty paper. Is there such a thing? have I been totally @$%^ed and would never be able to get service?

    Thanks!

All you need is the receipt and the notebook serial which can be found at the bottom of the notebook and on the box.

It shouldn't be a problem if it says low battery, mind as well charge it. Most electronics that are new come with a battery at a low charge, usually around 25% or less, so its quite normal.

You can customize the touchpad settings in control panel.
