When I turned it on it asked me all the password info ect. Then it got to the fingerprint thing and it said I already swiped it yet I didnt and went to the finger print screen. I couldnt get it to work so I just hit cancel until later.

Well, I cant figure out how to get it back up so I can set it up. I went into bios to the security section looking for TPM security but cant find it yet it shows a picture of it in the book?

After my several month long search for laptops fingerprint scanner was a must and I cant get it to work, pretty frustrating. Any help would be great. THANKS!

Settings for the fingerprint reader can be found in the ASUS Security Protect Manager. It's likely to be running in the system tray (identified as an icon in the area with the clock), but if it isn't, look through your Programs in the Start menu.

That said, I wouldn't use the fingerprint reader as an absolute replacement to a password because it isn't perfect. About a week after setting mine up, my brother-in-law swiped his finger and it logged him in. I haven't used the reader since.

Thanks for the help, I found the security program on the drivers disc.

I am also having a problem with the touch pad freezing up i guess is the way to describe it. It wont allow you to do anything but when I plug in the mouse I can move the pointer around. What would cause that?

Try FN+F9 to see if it does anything, or you can try download the beta ATKhotkey from Asus's website.

Besides making sure the touchpad is on, as Ken suggests above --- you could also try to reinstall the touchpad driver.
