Downloaded the .iso, used the MS usb to windows program, all seemed to go well. When I turn on the computer, it just launches straight into bios. I turned off safe boot. I tried the ei.cfg trick, but that didn't seem to work. My computer didn't seem to come with a copy of windows 8, do I actually need a DVD in there also?

This is turning out to be a real PITA. I am borderline retuning this laptop if things are going to be this frustrating. I personally would like to put windows 7 on there

    Any help would be appreciated.

*I swapped out the 750 gb HDD with my OCZ Vertex 4

If you have an option for CSM, that needs to be enabled as well.

    Secure Boot - disabled
    CSM/Legacy BIOS - enabled

    Windows 7 won't install under UEFI + OA 3.0.

Thanks, I did both of these, but still had issues. Come to find out, I had to use a DVD rather than the thumb drive. Problem solved!

I tried flashing the recovery on the thumb drive, didn't work out for me.
