I just got my new V6Va from ProPortable. It arrives with nice package and in perfect condition. Thanks to Justin, Sean and everyone else who answer my questions and help me decided on this wonderful machine.

First, let me just say this. All the fuzz about jaw dropping IPS screen are all true. I can surely say that the screen is the best I have ever seen, ever. It's even better than the Dell 24" widescreen on my desk right now.

Other first impression, it's so light and beautifully constructed. Granted I had a emachine M6811 before, so I am used to 8 pounder. But, I am really impressed with the built quality and the construction.

I just popped in my 7200 rpm hard drive and now it's doing recovery CD to reimage the HD. The DVD drive is a bit loud for my taste. Also, it does make a clicking sound when it first turn on.

I'll post more when once I use this beauty for a while.

    Happy new Asus owner :asus:

The ODD is indeed quite loud under use, but I barely ever use it nowadays :p

And congrats, you'll love it :)

Enjoy it...... it's too bad that people are only now raving about the screen that I've been raving about for ever...... especially since there's not too many of them left....

    I hate you dugdug > :)

Something came up at the last minute and I had to cancel my V6Va order...now I'm freaking out that I've missed my chance on the IPS screen...if they run out before I can order it again I'll just have to wait for the W3j :(

Oh you had to cancel? Well things always come up and better now then later I guess. The worst that can happen is there aren't any left when you're ready....... obviously if it wasn't for the IPS screen, it would be a no brainer to just wait if you could.... but that screen is killer.... check with me if this thing that came up gets taken care of and if I need to hold one for you for a week or after the rest get sold out, I will... just drop me a line directly.

I hope you enjoy v6va as much as I have been enjoying mine. There is still so much I have to learn and yes the screen is amazing and took me a little bit of time getting used to the new resolution. Yes, the DVD drive is loud and very slow, but so far these are really my only complaints with this machine.

Is the W3j going to have the same screen as the V6Va (only smaller of course)? If so I'll wait. If not, I may sacrifice the Z92ja's better GPU for this better screen and overall appearance and hop on it before it's too late...

Well, I wouldn't say never....... but it's not planned at this time and if it's ever seen again it would be in small quantities and would have a price premium........ but don't count on seeing is probably the best word of advice.
