I turned it on, oled shows asus, hdd light blinks a few times and stops. The screen never comes on. Is my bios screwed? Anyway to fix? thanks I hope I dont have to RMA it, since warranty is over.

Is the notebook still on with nothing on the LCD, or is it completely dead? If it is not completely dead, but nothing is shown on the LCD, try an external monitor. If nothing gets shown on the external monitor then it is likely the GPU failed. If it is completely dead, could be a variety of reasons.

{{If only people would search...}} But I understand this is a stressful situation so you want a quick and to the point answer.

Check my tips and tricks, item #1. Also try to reset the BIOS using the > o < pinhole on the belly of the notebook. If all this fails, it's probably a dead motherboard or GPU.

Try to check also the memory module. When I've replaced them, and put them in badly, my g1s had the same problem as you. Once fixing the wrong memory module placement, all goes well. In particular they need to be "pushed" in well..

Has security guys x-rayed your book when you boarded that plane?
I'm thinking about your hard drive.
One thing is certain for me - BIOS is live and sound

Try taking the battery out for a few seconds and popping it back in. I had an issue like that before (with an HP, however), and that fixed it. You may want to try taking the motherboard battery out also to let it 'power cycle'.

Nah, I doubt the X-Ray machine has anything to do with it. My notebook(s) have been through them countless times, with no ill effect.

Removing the CMOS battery is also not a bad idea. But I'm not sure it does much more than the BIOS reset button I was mentioning...

My G1s is fixed after I took it in for repair about a week ago. And it seems they replaced my motherboard, does that mean the cpu + gpu is totally new as well?
