I've had my eye on the eee for a while now and I'm wondering just how good they are at doing basic computing tasks.
I'm willing to buy one of the most expensive models for the build quality but are they good for some multitasking? I'm still not that educated on the atom processor and its qualities.
I know I won't be able to run anything graphic intensive and I also know I'll have to show a little patience with it, but would I be able to have the following programmes up at once without lag?
. Msn Messenger
. Google Chrome with a few tabs open + youtube
. Email programme
. Word document
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,
I've had my 1215N for a week and it's been running great with the right drivers. Can even play a bit of starcraft 2 on low settings. Since ION is a new tech, the drivers for it hasn't fully unlocked its potential yet (or has it? lol) used photoshop CS4 micro for simple image editing and poster designing, no lag as long as ION is on.
However one thing to keep in mind is, for smooth operation and transition between different windows, the power setting should always be on Max Performance at all times.
Battery life is between 5-6 hours.
Let me know if you need any other information.
Just how capable is the Asus eee at performing tasks?
