After what seems like months of reading, waiting and hoping about what laptop to get, I finally bit the bullet and ordered the G71g-q2 from BTOtech. Although I am not a heavy core gamer, I do work and pleasure multimedia, want a machine for work/pleasure for the road trips, and picture handling--this is over board but I believe will have long term value. I know this is a good gamer machine, I decided to go higher in my original plan because of the longer term use of the machine (current laptop is 5 years old), Blu ray and finally getting a good sounding machine with a high end screen (run on sentence).
I have never written a review before, but will try to give the group my impressions of both the service and the machine when it arrives. I don't do bench marks and don't run WOW, but I think I will be able to give an overall feel for the machine and process. There are hopefully others out there like my self, mid level knowledge of machines, who will find this approach helpful. I have really appreciated the discussions and insight that this and a couple of the forums have provided me in my purchase decision. I also will be turning to the board for tweaking and any issues with the machine. I know I will be looking for software or guideance to take off any bloat ware; looking for what is actually needed by the machine.
So, now for the 5-7 day wait.![]()
