Just placed order for new G50Vt-A1

Well I can say for the second time in my life that I get a new laptop.

Current one is a Asus z71v. Now its a G50vt.

I cant wait till I have it now.

after this now will be saving up for a n10 I hope. but that wont be till next year.

Anyone know if this will come with the Headset that asus shows on its website

I did not see that any of the reviews show a head set with it.

 

The headset is not included in North America (and possibly other places).

 

Well my order has fully processed and will be shipped. I can’t wait.

I already have plan.

I’m going to ghosts the main hard drives to save the factory settings

Then remove the hidden part ion to just leave windows on there.

 

Matrinix, where did you find out that the headset is not included?

I have a G71G on pre-order from Xotic and they said it DOES come with the headset.
And in the detailed specs on their website it is listed along with the mouse and backpack.
I recall Justin saying something about it being up to the reseller which to include...

I hope I do get the headset, it seems quite nice.

well my z71v just died today. I think its hardware but do not want to spend to much time finding out. I may format it to see.

You ordered at xotic and cuztomized the A2 blue ray to the normal hard drive. Yes i did that too, your not the only person

 

hehe...I just don't know why more people aren't doing that. It's cheaper than the A1 and you get a bigger hard drive. DUH! It's a no brainer.
I also laugh at all the people buying those BEST BUY X1 models for $1250 when you can get SO MUCH more if you just came up with a few more bucks. For the price you just can't beat the xotic pc offer for the G50VT-A2.

Now everyone shhhh.

Mine is still in pre-order...I don't want them to come asking me for more money.

Well, Xotic could see the mistake that they made by offering the A2 for less than the A1 without the Blue Ray and come back and say they arne't offering the A2 without Blue Ray. I think we should all cross our fingers and hope that they honor the price that they advertise with the subtractions that we made.

BTW I spoke with a saleperson from Xotic two days ago and he said that the A2's were arriving this week. If that's true then we should expect to receive ours in the next couple weeks...hopefully sooner.

 

well the A2 come from the factory with the blue ray from asus. I think they are being nice and letting you pick if you want it and will swap it out for you. Now they may end up with alot of extra blue ray drives that maybe I can get cheap in the future.. he he.

 

Yeah, but I don't think that their (xotic) intention was to make the overall price cheaper than the A1....They may end up with a lot of Blue Ray's AND A1's cause anyone who figures this out is going to go for the A2 with a bigger hard drive, without the Blue Ray, for $7 less.

 

You are right about that. From what I see this is the only laptop you can do this one. May just be a mistake.

 

NOPE, you can do it with the ASUS G71G-A2 as well. With removing the Blue Ray from the G71G-A2 it becomes less expensive ($1772) than the A1 ($1783)and you get 320g hard drives rather than the 250g you get with the A1. I would have went for this Laptop (A2) but $1800 is more than I wanted to spend. Still though, for the extra money with the G71G-A2 you get a laptop with 6,144MB of RAM, a 17 inch screen & it comes in RED (for those who don't like Orange)!!! All for just $190 more than the G50VT-A2!

 

Now that I wrote it out and did the math...I am even more tempted to change my order to the G71G-A2 $190 for an upgrade to 6G Ram and a 17'' screen may be too much to pass up.

 

I also ordered a G71G sans blu ray.

Does anyone have any further information on the headset? I was told it is included.

 

It is pictured in the bundle with the back pack and mouse but not included in the spec list.

 

I found out that the US does not get the headset.

 

Again, where specifically is anyone getting information that the headset is NOT included for orders in the US?

On the spec list for the G71G on the Xotic PC website it IS listed

I am only asking if anyone can actually link or quote a specific source backing their claims of it NOT being sent to the US...

Ok thanks, I ordered a G71G, so was asking about that model.

So far it appears to come with the headset.

 

We'll need to check the actual package when we get G71g some time next week.

 

a headphone with g50vt-a1 would have been sweet...but the mouse and backpack is awesome
